Description: Here are a pair of Meier & Frank Co. shoes from 1939! These do have damage! Please read entire description! I was going to throw these out due to the wear and aged look to them until I saw the note in with them. These are from a wedding that took place on July 23 1939! I do not know the size. On the inside it says 244666 6 AA 8 (the 8 is underscored) 484. I am not fully sure of the first number two. These look to have been colored with white shoe polish. The damage is on the right shoe. The cross strap has pulled free from the body of the shoe. Now a good cobbler may be able to repair this. Both shoes have the buckle and it is fully functional. There is wear on the soles and heels of both shoes. I do not know the material that these are made of, however, being 1939, it is likely made of leather. As stated there is wear on these. Due to the age that is to be expected! I can just imagine the bride in 1939 being all giddy about marrying her beau! A pretty white dress and these cute little shoes to complete what was to be a wonderful wedding day! I will include the note that gives the name of the bride. These shoes measure 9 1/2" long from the top of the heel to the toe and around 2 3/4" across the widest part of the shoe. The heel is 2 1/2" tall measured from the top of the heel to the base. Please see photos to get an idea of the style. If you collect vintage or antique footwear or know someone who loves the 1930's to 1940's, these might be worth a second look! How many shoes have survived from that era? Not many. In any event, these have history to them! Free shipping in the lower 48 States. All others inquire for a quote.
