Description: NEVER FLOWN Victor Stanzel & Co. Lil Rocket from 1954. Back in 1954/55 The engine was ran once but it was not flown due to fear of destroying it. According to a relative of original owner, they were afraid they’d crash their new Christmas present. They were not familiar with this airplane’s control line as it only has 1 line, not 2, like most Control Line aircraft. It was cleaned, put on display for a few weeks then put back in its box. I bought this model from the original owners a few years ago. The 70 year old box and its graphics are in excellent condition. The model is complete with all of its accessories which appear unused it even has the finger guard for starting the motor. ŤThe manuals are included. The battery is still showing 1.46v. Motor has excellent compression. There are some spots on the wing and horizontal stabilizer that I assume are from fuel residue when it was ran years ago. I never attempted to clean them. One small blemish on the trailing edge of the wing, just to the left of the fuselage. When you pick this model up, you tend to put your thumb on the trailing edge and your forefinger on the leading edge. I picked it up this way when I first held it so I assume this was from it being picked up. I took pics of this area. Both sections of the control stick are present as well as the monofilament control line. This is a nice example of a 70 year old, rare, flying model that employed a control method different from the 2 line control methods. So, there won’t be many of these around.
