Description: Unusual USN Navy Pea Coat woven material Size 40. So I did some research on Pea Coats before listing this, but still can’t date it or figure out why it’s made of this textured, woven type of fabric instead of the smooth wool that every other pea coat as far back as WWI seems to be made from. There is no NAVY tag, so maybe it’s a private purchase type. Everything else I got with it was WWII period, and the buttons on this appear to be the same as WWII Buttons. There is one loose button and one button is completely gone. There is also a seam on the back of the shoulder that has started to split. Could be repaired fairly easily.
