Description: NEW "COSMETIC IMPERFECT" REALLY BIG BESPOKE MULTI-EXOTIC WOOD TRIANGLE SHAPE KALEIDOSCOPE w/QUARTZ FRONT SURFACE MIRRORS and a big removable object chamber. The mirrors and lens are fine, but the wood construction did not turn out as I had hoped: some pieces not quite aligned, glue lines, and some veneer ripples and finish issues; functionally perfect but cosmetically not what I had desired. Constructed of Waterfall Bubinga Veneer, Oregon Maple Burl end caps, and Redheart main body planks with Birch dowel adornments..The big feature is a user accessible object chamber that is 3 1/4" in length along each side of the triangle shape and 1" deep; so you can create really big images you would like using your own materials to create fantastic Kaleidoscopic patterns! This unit is 10" long overall and 4 5/8" in diameter at the end caps on each side of the triangle shape The viewing lens is made from optical glass and is 1 1/4" in diameter. Most makers of Kaleidoscopes use very tiny viewing lenses, but with larger front surface mirrors you get much better viewing ability of the images covering far more area and sides than typical kaleidoscopes. The object chamber is protected by a removable 1/8" thick clear plexiglass cover held in place with removable brass thumb screws into inserts in the Oregon Myrtle Burl. The internal size of the 3 Front surface Quartz glass Mirrors are each 3" wide each by 7 1/2" long in a triangle configuration within the main viewing chamber. The wood elements are all finished in natural Shellac and polished with Renaissance Micro-crystalline wax from England. The concept was to make it so it was easy to change and "mix up" the items in the object chamber, but also have the Kaleidoscope be made from a beautiful and colorful woods. I finished the Waterfall Bubinga Veneer so it has a leather like feel to it. The Kaleidoscope images shown are the best I could do given the limitations of my camera in trying to view through the kaleidoscope's lens. Viewing using your eye is much more vivid and sharp, really amazing in real-time. The sample contents (which are included) are various colors of small plastic shapes and glass beads designed expressly for use in Kaleidoscopes; but you can replace those with whatever you want- that's when the real fun begins! This unit weighs in at a hefty 2 1/4 pounds! Photos are of the actual unit you are bidding on. Collectable hand crafted Kaleidoscopes can retail anywhere from $75 to over $2,000 each. If this unit had been perfect I expected it to sell for at least $49.00, but it is not cosmetically perfect so as usual it costs a lot less for my bespoke creation and still comes with a 100% money back guarantee if not completely satisfied. I would be pleased to answer any questions. Thanks for looking.
