Description: Hohner HG360R You are looking at one of the more interesting (and rare) guitars from the period of Japanese guitar manufacturing known as the "lawsuit years" - the 1970s - when a handful of Japanese luthiers (Kazuo Yairi, et.al.) were so good, the guitars they made were on par with many American-made guitars - at 1/3rd the price. The Hohner name was used on guitars from several guitar houses, but the Hohners with the big vertical letters on the head stock are the most prized - like this one. I've seen other guitars with the same head stock logo and they're all fantastic sounding instruments. I got this guitar with a cracked top brace inside the sound hole beside the neck block that caused a crack in the top. The brace was professionally repaired. You can see in one of the pictures the crack in the top beside the fretboard; it closed up nicely once the brace was fixed and shouldn't need any attention. Upgrades: - Grover Rotomatic (18:1) tuners - a modern compensated bone saddle- ebony bridge pins - K&K Pure Mini passive pickup that works exceptionally well. It's ready for gigging and is definitely an attention hound. The action is adjusted low and easy to play. There is very little fret wear for a 50+ year old guitar, and no buzzing at all. There is a long thin scratch on the back lower-left bout but does not go through the finish. There are a few other very minor scratches, but otherwise this guitar is very clean. This guitar sounds punchy and bright, easily cutting through the mix. I'll include all the old hardware and a complete copy of the original sales brochure. It comes in a HSC that looks period-correct (original ?) in excellent condition for it's age.
