Hand-Colored Map of Oceanica-Pacific Ocean (1855)-"Mitchell's School Atlas"

Description: Up for sale is a HAND COLORED antique map of Oceanica(includes North and South Pacific Oceans) from "Mitchell's School Atlas" published in 1855 by Cowperthwait, Desilver, & Butler, Philadelphia, PA. This one page map measures approximately 8" x 10 1/2"and is beautifully hand-colored in generally in Good- Condition. There is wear and browning to the map. Some tears and chips around the edges. The corners are chipped and creased, or torn. Some fading and stains throughout due to age. There are some holes in the border from where the map was taken out of book but doesn't affect the actual map. Staining on right side of map. Tear in upper left corner of border where map was removed from atlas but doesn't affect map. This map is a great piece of history! It will look great when nicely framed. Map will ship flat.
