Description: Intriguing antique late 19th c1890s original oil pastel painting. Depicts an eye catching forest landscape complete with trees and river running through. Medium is pastel on paper board done in an Impressionist style. Very well done with pleasing lines and nice detail. Possibly signed in the bottom right corner but worn off or faded (see eBay photo 22). Provenance comes from a large collection of over 800 pieces purchased from the estate of a southern Massachusetts art dealer. Worthy of further research. In As Found condition. Heavy west and rubbing to the pastel. Some gentle edge wear. Framed in a gold gilded gesso wood frame and backed with rigid paper board. Frame shows heavy patina and edge wear to the gesso and looks like it once had ornate gold metal accents to the corners which are no longer present. Measures 28” x 20” and 34 1/4” x 26 1/4” with the frame. Please enjoy the photos for further item details and if you have any questions feel free to ask. This item ships Worldwide.
